
The Regional Development Company of Crete S.A. is pleased to announce the launch of the first cycle of S.T.E.A.M. programs for children at the Small Hydroelectric Station (ΜΥΗΣ) Agyia for the academic year 2023–2024.
The first S.T.E.A.M. program cycle will focus on the generation of electricity from wind. It will involve building three different types of windmills (traditional Cycladic, metal windmills of the Lasithi Plateau, and modern wind turbines) using LEGO, and will explore how they produce electricity, their efficiency, and specific technical aspects of their operation.
GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION:
Class days and hours:
SUNDAY 10:00–12:00 and 12:00–14:00 for children in 3rd–4th and 5th–6th grades of Primary School.
Class duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes.
A total of 10 classes will take place and be completed before the Christmas holidays.
The fee will be paid in 2 installments of €65 each — the 1st at the beginning of the program and the 2nd during the first week of December 2023.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The first and last class will take place at M.YIS. Agyia, while all remaining sessions will be held at the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Crete Department, located at 23 Nearchou Street. The final S.T.E.A.M. workshop — to be held on Wednesday, 20/12/2023 at the M.YIS. — will include all-day activities for the children from 08:00 to 15:00!
