As part of the 3rd Summer Film School / Cinema Summer Camp of the Chania Film Festival, the film team Converters created an 8-minute documentary titled Kilowatt: energy yesterday – culture today. The film explores the history of the former Small Hydroelectric Power Plant and highlights its vital contribution during its years of operation.
Three short clips were created to mark the launch of the educational programs and activities hosted at the former SHPP facilities. Guided by experienced educators, participants explore the centuries-old history of Renewable Energy Sources, discover the island’s rich industrial heritage, and learn about the unique ecosystem of the protected Natura area.
