The Center for Environmental Education and Sustainability of Vamos, in collaboration with the Heads of School Activities of the Primary Education Directorates of the Regional Directorate of Education of Crete, within the framework of the Regional Environmental Education Network “I Change for the Climate,” is organizing a two-day seminar on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Seminar Theme: “Climate Crisis and Education”
The aim of the seminar is to raise awareness about the Climate Crisis.
Objectives include:
a) discussing the role of schools and education in adapting to and addressing the Climate Crisis,
b) exploring educational tools and methods for action in schools related to this issue.
The seminar will be attended by up to 40 teachers serving in the Primary Education Directorates of the Region of Crete, who participate in the Regional Network and/or are implementing or interested in implementing an Environmental Education program on the major issue of our time: the Climate Crisis.
Interested parties must complete the online registration form HERE by Monday, January 15, 2024.
The seminar will be held at the K.E.P.E.A. Vamos facilities in Kefalas, Apokoronas on the first day, and at the Small Hydroelectric Station (M.YIS.) Agyia on the second day. For teachers coming from other Regional Units, accommodation is available (up to 21 people) at the old Girls’ School of Vamos, the guesthouse of K.E.P.E.A. Vamos.
