Meeting with the Heads of Primary and Secondary Education of Chania, Ms. Popi Psaroudaki-Kasotaki and Mr. Ioannis-Panagiotis Ampelas, was held by the Thematic Deputy Regional Governor of Crete and President of the Regional Development Company of Crete (PANETAIK S.A.), Mr. Antonis Papaderakis.
Also present at the meeting were Ms. Maria Petrantonaki, Director of PANETAIK S.A., and the Company’s collaborator – museum educator Ms. Marilena Pantelaki.
The subject of the meeting was the official integration of the M.YIS Agyia interactive exhibition space into the educational and training activities of schools in the Chania region.
After presenting the purpose and objectives of the ΜΥΗΣ Agyia exhibition and interactive space—operated by PANETAIK S.A. through a Programmatic Agreement with the Region of Crete and the Technical Chamber of Greece/Western Crete—guided tour and activity programs were introduced, which have been developed and are offered to various student age groups.
The Heads of Education welcomed the initiative at ΜΥΗΣ Agyia and committed to taking steps to organize on-site training sessions for teachers about the activities developed at M.YIS Agyia, so they can plan visits with their school classes.
It was also agreed to develop further cooperation, involving the Chania Science Laboratory Center (EKFE) and the Environmental Education Center (KEPEA) of Vamos, for the design and implementation of additional educational and training programs at ΜΥΗΣ Agyia focused on the themes of “Energy” and “Environment,” including joint submissions of related proposals to national and European funding programs.
