The Regional Development Company of Crete S.A. (P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A.) is pleased to announce the opening of registrations for a new cycle of STEAM educational courses at MYIS Agia for the 2026–2027 academic year. The program is designed for children from the 3rd Grade of Primary School through the 1st Grade of Junior High School and will run from November 2026 to May 2027.
The program combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), using LEGO® educational construction kits and hands-on activities that encourage exploration, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Its curriculum is designed to complement and enrich the school syllabus, giving children the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through experiential learning and practical application.
The program consists of 24 two-hour sessions, held once a week on either Mondays or Thursdays, during the afternoon. Classes will take place in the event hall of the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Crete Section (TEE), at 23 Nearchou Street, Chania.
Participants will be divided into the following age groups:
- 3rd–4th Grade of Primary School
- 5th–6th Grade of Primary School and 1st Grade of Junior High School
The exact dates and times of the sessions will be announced following coordination with the participants.
The educational program has been designed and will be delivered by Nikos Afentakis, an external collaborator of SHPP Agia. Mr. Afentakis holds an MSc in Production and Management Engineering, is a certified LEGO® STEAM instructor, and is also a certified instructor in Learning Difficulties and Special Education from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The first session will be offered as a trial lesson, with no financial commitment for families whose children choose not to continue with the program.
Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children are invited to complete the online registration form. A separate application must be submitted for each child. As places are limited, registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Further information about the program and participation fees is available through the online registration form:
